Fred and I did a little hiking on April 24, but we spent most of our time skewering and cooking lots of fresh vegetables and some sirloin over an open fire. The food was really a treat. After we ate, we took a short hike, then Fred left and I spent the night in the forest. It rained a few times, but it was a very light rain and it wasn’t stormy. Of course, I was under a rain fly and I was snug in my Haven hammock. My only discomfort was that my sleeping bag was too warm for the weather. Had I planned better, I would have brought something better suited for 55-60 degree temps. I still slept alright and I’m happy that I got to wake up in the forest to a cacophony of singing birds.
