Not much to report except that the mosquitoes are large and hungry. We picked up the Weetock trail at the culvert on the east side of the stream/beaver lake. The sun was very low in the sky when we started. By the time we got past the beaver lake, it was getting pretty dark. We hiked past the sawdust pile (with a brief visit to the sawdust pile) and continued down the trail past the bridge, and we took the connector back to Hillfield Rd. I’m just going to estimate that it was a 5 mile loop, but I really don’t know the distance. I can tell you it’s more than 3 miles and less than 7. 😉 If you don’t shuttle vehicles, the road part of the loop is about 0.7 miles (a little over 1 km). My only complaint is that that section is not as hilly as some of my favorite sections.
