Last Hike Before the Ice Age

Estimated read time 1 min read

We entered the trail at the south terminus, hiked for about 10 minutes, then went back to Hillfield Rd to fetch Fred’s phone. But that wasn’t all! We hiked again, and this time we loosely followed the trail to the sawdust pile where we rested for a few minutes before continuing on the trail to the beaver dam, across the beaver dam to the east side of the beaver pond, then north to the culvert.

We left the woods at the culvert and walked on the road back to our vehicles. It wasn’t quite dark, yet, so we set up our hammock chairs in the woods near the road and had a snack, as the last light faded away.

I have no idea how far we walked. Based on the time we hiked, I’d estimate 6-8 miles, we did some meandering, so there is just no good way to tell.
