I went out on March 2 after it stopped raining. Fred eventually joined me. My motivation was mostly to explore the streams that would now be swollen with rain water. Where I live, I measured 2 inches (5 cm) of rain, so I figured the streams would be running strong.
I was not disappointed. I took photos and recorded video, but the photos seem two dimensional compared to the video with audio. I could make a relaxation tape from the audio I recorded.
Here is a short video edit that I uploaded to YouTube:
I did take a few photos that I thought were alright. We finished our hike just after sunset. The sunset was colorful, and the colors were reflecting in the water as we came to the end of our walk.
We didn’t go home before returning to the woods and spending a few hours, sitting by a campfire, eating camp food, drinking beer, and talking about whatever came to mind. I spend a lot of time, pontificating on the best campsites and the ultimate hammock.
Which reminds me. I recently ordered a new hammock. I can’t wait to get it and try it out. This is the second-best time of year for camping; it might even be the best time of year, but autumn would be a close second.
